The designer said he was influenced by an African Safari. The full collection included ice buckets, trays and wooden boards and sold at high-end department stores. In the late 1960’s this design was seen as modern art colliding with home accessory design. Today we might see this as a form of cultural appropriation. Both can be true: context and nuance.
